Mr young Superman is a must within this network! Tom Welling was born on April 26th 1977 in Putnam Valley, New York. As a child he moved frequently because of his father's job in General Motor's. He went from NY to Delaware and Michigan. Tom having admitted that his grades were"fair" in high school, he had decided not to persue college and go straight to work in construction. In 1997, in Nantucket, Tom was approached by an Abercrombie & Fitch catalogue shoot scout who offered him the opportunity to model for the catalogue. From this offer, he had decided to go to NY to look into this line of work. His modeling career took off from this point.

While in Miami In 1998, while still in the modeling world, he then met his current wife, Jamie White who were married on July 5th, 2002, in a private ceremony held on Martha's Vineyard.. Soon after, he had realised that he wasn't liking the turn modeling was bringing to his life and started to look for better ventures. As he turned to acting career with no experience, he gave himself 1 year to get success in it moving to Los Angeles in 2000.

Luckily, Tom found the audition process' quite enjoyable and actually got quite a few commrcials such as T.J. Maxx and Verizon, along with a large role in the music video for the song 'Picture Perfect', by Angela Via, in March 2000. But his breakthrough role was in the fall of 2000, when he won the part of karate teacher Rob Meltzer in the successful drama series Judging Amy. He continued to roles the series Special Unit 2, as Male Victim #1 in an episode entitled 'The Depths'. In September, Tom also made a brief appearance in the pilot episode of Undeclared.

But of course, Tom's most recognizable role was when he was cast as Superman, Clark Kent in the WB's Smallville. Eventhough he had denied the role 2 times before, he did the right choice in finally accepting this role!
