taye Diggs was born on January 2nd, 1971 in New Jersey. He was raised in Rochester, New York, Diggs received a BFA degree in musical theater from Syracuse University. He made his show business debut in the ensemble cast of the five-time Tony Award winning play "Carousel." Taye Diggs is the oldest of five and is not the only artist in the family. His two brothers are musicians, one sister is a dancer and the other is going to college to be a veterinarian.
Taye really got his big break when he played the role of Winston in "How Stella got her groove back". In this movie, he was the very handsome young and charming guy who turned the heads of many women around the world. From that role he was able to get many principal roles in different urban movies such as "the best man", "the wood" and so on. After he was cast in many tv shows but mainly as guest stars. He recently in 2006 started a new show called "day Break" which seemed to have began with a big bang but was eventually cut from the air in 2007.
